To watch collectors Panerai is know as a luxury sports brand with a huge, almost cult like following.  I’ve lusted after a Panerai to add to my collection for many years.  I actually owned a PAM 0090, Power Reserve, for a short time but ended up selling it and it’s something I’ve always regretted.  When the opportunity came up to pick up another Panerai this time I couldn’t resist.  The PAM 0025 is part of the company’s Submersible line of dive watches.  It’s big and beefy but this one’s made from titanium which keeps it light and comfortable on the wrist.

Click on through to see my unboxing of the Panerai PAM 0025 Luminor Submersible.

If you’d like to learn more about Panerai you can visit the company’s web site here.

Heart Rate Monitors are a very popular method for tracking one’s effort during workouts.  The Oregon Scientific Gaiam Touch Heart Rate Monitor won a CES Innovations Award this year and we had a chance to check it out at CES Unveiled last night.  The watch features a slim design that offers a touch screen display requiring only a touch of a finger on the monitor’s sensor for an accurate heart rate reading. Check out my video of the watch above.  Then head to the Oregon Scientific web site to learn more.

Tokyo Flash Debuts Touch Screen LCD Watch

Tokyo Flash’s latest funky watch offers a minimal design and a simple, intuitive display.  The Kisai On Air features a colored LCD display with touch screen technology, time, date and alarm.  The Kisai On Air is the fourth concept design submitted by a fan to the company that has gone on to become reality.  The limited edition Kisai On Air watch is available in four display colors each with LED backlighting. The LCD display is always on so the time can be read at a glance and the LED backlight function means it will light up on demand, a useful function for night time.  The touch screen display has four hot-zones (top, bottom, left, right) which you can simply touch with your finger to change mode; time, date, alarm, light up.

The new Kisai On Air is priced regularly at $199 but is currently on sale for $179.

TokyoFlash makes some of the more unusual watches you’re likely to come across. Most require what I like to call “work” to actually tell the time but each looks super cool and ultra geeky on your wrist.  The Kisai Seven, one of the company’s newest models, was inspired by an idea submitted on the company’s blog. After a lot of waiting, what was once the idea of  a fan became reality and the watch was released in two color offerings, blue or white.  The Kisai Seven probably isn’t a watch you’ll want to wear every day but when you do decide to place it on your wrist it’s sure to attract some attention.  Check out my video review above and then head to the TokyoFlash web site to learn more.

I became familiar with PHOSPHOR’s line of e-ink watches when I had the pleasure of reviewing one over at my YouTube channel.  I still have the watch today and it makes it into my wrist rotation regularly, often getting comments from people who notice it.  Today, PHOSPHOR announced the next group of e-ink watches to join the company’s line up.  The World Time Sport Edition features a buttonless touch lens that allows the wearer to change modes by swiping across the watch face.  It offers the ability to view the time in 24 different time zones and will be made available in three color options:  white, black and orange.  The World Time Sport is made with a flexible silicone band and is also water resistant.  These super cool new watches will be available in early December for $99.  However, if you pre-order one now you’ll pay only $79.  We’ll have one for review just as soon as they’re made available so stay tuned.
