Review: Papago! GoLife Fit Smart Scale

I seem to be on what is a never ending mission to get myself back in shape.  A scale is an important tool in doing so, whether it’s for dieting or just overall health, a scale helps know your weight and keep track of your progress over time.  The Papago! GoLife Fit Smart Scale supports up to four users, allowing each to sync their data over Bluetooth to a mobile phone or tablet.  Once there the data can be stored and tracked over time so that users are able to gauge their progress.  The GoLife Fit Smart Scale has a sleek and modern look that’s sure to compliment any setting.  Want to see more of the Papago! GoLife Fit Smart Scale?  Check out my full review below.

Read on through for my full review and be sure to catch the video at the end of the review for a more up close and personal look at the Papago! GoLife Fit Smart Scale.

Inside the packaging you’ll find the scale along with four AAA batteries and an instruction manual.

Here’s what Papago! has to say about the GoLife Fit Smart Scale.

The GOLIFE Fit Smart Scale is the perfect tool to help people reach their fitness goals by keeping track of their weight and BMI (body mass index). The slim design has a durable stainless steel body with an attractive blue LCD screen. You can set up your perfect weight goal and when paired with the GOLIFE Fit APP you will know how much you should weigh to reach that important target on a day-to-day basis. You can set up the scale to the metrics of your choice and the ability to add up to four family members’, note that you are expecting a child, plus a guest option that does not require complete setup. It is a perfect fit for a house of roommates or a growing family. Reach your goals with confidence. Strive for more and become who you imagine yourself to be.

Step one of the scale’s setup involves you removing the battery door from the back side of the scale and inserting the four AAA batteries which come included with it. Once they are installed you can replace the battery door.

Step two was then to pair up the scale with my phone.  This took a couple of tries but eventually I go the two paired together.

Data from the Fit Smart Scale is synced to your smartphone app via Bluetooth 4.0 and is then stored to the cloud forever. Multiple devices can be synced so you can keep an eye on the health of all your family members.  The Fit Smart Scale can store your data until the next time you sync when you don’t have access to your phone.

In Guest Mode guest users can press the button at the bottom of the device to enter guest mode and start using the device without the need to set up an account.

Setting up the application on iOS was very easy.  I used my iPhone 6 Plus, downloaded the app. from the App Store and launched it.  I was asked to create a new account with my email address and a password and after clicking a verification link my account was set up.  The initial setup of the app. also asked for my current height, weight, gender and date of birth.

Weight and BMI Trends are easily tracked and your progress is shown in your GOLiFE account with graphs and charts. You get detailed stats so that you know exactly how much progress you are making.  Unfortunately, from what I can tell this is only shown in english when using the app. on your mobile device.  The company’s website appears to be in Chinese.

The application supports up to four accounts so you can track the health of your entire family. They can also keep their information private so it can also work for a houseful of roommates. Guests can also view their weight with a simple push of a button.

The GOLiFE Fit comes with a pregnancy mode so you can track your weight changes during every trimester.

The scale itself has a pleasing look with brushed stainless steel and a blue LCD panel.  There are four numbers underneath the display, each representing the four different user accounts you can create./  The guest button is located at the bottom of the scale and can be used by individuals who do not want their weight tracked or who are not users setup with an account.  Before stepping on the scale a user who has an account set up would press their corresponding number.  The scale shows the user’s information before allowing them to weigh themselves.

If you’re someone who’s trying to lose a little weight or perhaps you just want to track your weight over time a connected scale is a great way to do so.  The Papago! GoLife Fit Smart Scale looks great with its stainless steel and blue finish/  It’s low profile, so it won’t take up a ton of a space in your bathroom.  The ability to sync your data wirelessly via Bluetooth to your mobile device of choice where it can be analyzed over time make this scale a logical choice for just about anyone.
