Review: CaseMachine Sesto Case for Apple iPhone 5

CaseMachine is a small batch case company that has been turning out some very slick designs for the iPhone 5.  Their cases are all made by hand and each is crafted here in the U.S.  The company’s newest offering, the Sesto Case, draws it’s design inspiration from the Lamborghini Sesto sports car.  With carbon fiber, aluminum and polycarbonate, the Sesto case offers a really unique look and feel that will appeal to auto enthusiasts and case collectors alike.

Inside the packaging you’ll find the case along a certificate of authenticity, instructions and a removal tool.

Here’s what CaseMachine has to say about the Sesto Case for Apple iPhone 5.

The Casemachine Sesto Case for Apple iPhone 5 is one of the most elite Aluminum-Polymer snap-on hybrid cases ever made to date. It brings with it a nonesuch user experience without affecting the iPhone’s inherent beauty. Our designer served weeks to get the automotive inspired design right, which would give this its Italian sports car looks to the phone along with providing premium fall protection. Being the market-leading innovator for smartphone solutions, Casemachine proudly presents a case, which does not affect the signal reception. Be it Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi, 3G or perhaps LTE connectivity, the Casemachine Sesto Case for Apple iPhone 5 ensures unaffected signal reception at all times. High impact polymers have been used for the basic shape of the Sesto, and CNC machined airplane grade aluminum has been only accented to selected areas on the case which are guaranteed not to have an impact on signal reception. The Sesto has a snap-on nature, which makes putting it on and taking it off quite easy. The Casemachine Sesto Case for Apple iPhone 5 is not just like any other polymer hybrid – we have added compelling looks to it by adding the exotic machined carbon fiber to its back panel. The carbon fiber inlay has rich patterns which feel superior to the touch and cater for an elegant overall look of the case. On the Casemachine Sesto Case for Apple iPhone 5, we have reinforced the corners for a tighter placement of the phone. This keeps the iPhone in place even if it falls or suffers any abrupt shocks and movements.

The Sesto Case comes in four different colors.  You can choose from White, Silver, Blue or Black.

The case is made up of two section.  A composite back plate and a aluminum frame.  The back plate is lined with a piece of authentic carbon fiber.

The inside of the back portion of the case is coated with felt so that the back of your iPhone 5 is safely protected from scratches while inside the case.

To place the case on your phone you first insert your phone into the back part of the case.  Then you procede to snap the aluminum frame into place.

Once installed the case does yield access to all of the iPhone 5’s ports and controls.  The bottom of the case features a single large cutout for access to the microphone, Lighting port, headset jack and speaker.  Along the left side a second large cutout gives way to the volume button and mute switch.

The sleep/awake button, on the top of the case, is meant to resemble the headlight of a Lamborghini Sesto sports car.

On the back of the case special flared out cutout allows the iPhone 5’s rear facing camera, LED flash and secondary microphone to remain clear.  The carbon fiber insert and special paint job on the back of the case look awesome.

The Sesto does offer a good amount of “lay-on-the-table” protection.  If you place your phone onto a flat surface, with the screen side down first, the surface will make contact with the case, not your phone’s screen. If you’re using a tempered glass screen shield on your iPhone 5 this case won’t fit perfectly.

To remove the case you use the special tool provided to separate the two sections.
