More and more of us are using our iPhones to watch video content.  Whether it’s sitting down to catch a full length feature film you rented from iTunes or just home movies, the iPhone 5 is a perfect portable video viewing machine.  Ever try to hold your iPhone up for an entire film?  How sore was your arm afterwards?  The answer?  A case with a built in kickstand.  The new PopLock case from NutKase combines a sturdy TPU case along with a pop out kickstand that allows you to prop up your phone in both portrait or landscape.

The PopLock case is made from durable TPU.  It’s flexible yet both strong and protective.

The interior of the case isn;’t line with anything.  This case is all TPU and nothing else.  This makes the case feel very light.

Placing the case on your phone is a breeze.  Simply place your phone in, starting with the buttons ad the just pop the remaining portion in.  The result is a tight, secure fit.

Once your phone is inside the case you’ll still have access to all of its ports and controls.  Both the volume buttons and sleep/awake button get covered by the case.  There’s still ample feedback when you press them though.  A small cutout yields access to the vibrate switch.  On the bottom you’ll find individual cutouts for the speaker, microphone, lighting port and headset jack.

The back of the phone offers a pill shaped cutout for the iPhone 5′s rear facing camera, LED flash and secondary microphone.  It’s also where the key feature of this case lies.  Press the button on the back of the case and you release a pop out style kickstand.

The kickstand allows you to stand up your iPhone 5 in either the portrait positon.

The NutKase PopLock case offers a superior fit and the ability to stand up your iPhone 5 in either the landscape or the portrait orientation.  The pop out style kickstand makes me nostalgic for the slap bracelets of the 80s and I found myself popping out the kickstand even when I didn’t need it ejected.  That said if you’re looking for a light weight way to stand up your own iPhone you should have a look at the PopLock.
