Just when we thought every possible idea for an iPhone case had been done, Marware comes along and surprises us with a new one.  We recently reviewed the company’s Stash Case, which uses a new 3 piece design.  The rEVOLUTION case uses the same tri-design but is offered in four eye popping styles.  This isn’t the old slider style case you’re used to.  If you’ve been craving something different when it comes to protection for your iPhone 5 perhaps the new Marware rEVOLUTION case is just what the doctor order.  Want to find out more?

Inside the packaging you’ll find the case along a single, clear, front facing screen shield.  If you’re using a tempered glass screen shield with your iPhone 5 you’ll need to remove it before installing and using this case.  So it’s nice that Marware supplies one.

There are four different versions of the rEVOLUTION case.  You can choose from Black Sea, White Sea, Metal Jacket or Carbon Fiber.

The rEVOLUTION case is made from hard plastic.  It comes in three sections.  A top, bottom and middle.  The inside of each piece is lined with an ultra glossy finish.

The top and bottom sections have a frosted finish while the middle section, while frosted on the sides contains a metal insert.

To place the case on your phone you first install both the top and bottom pieces.

Then place the center piece on as you would a snap on the back style case.  Start with the button side first and then click the opposite side in.  Because the lip of the cases extends up onto the phone’s screen you do get some lay on the table protection.  However, this does mean that you won’t be able to use thicker, tempered glass screen shields.

Once it’s installed on your phone the rEVOLUTION yields full access to all of the iPhone 5′s ports and controls.  Along the bottom you’ll find three individual cutouts, one for the speaker, one for the microphone and another for the headset jack.  The case features a built in volume rocker which covers the phone volume buttons.  The mute switch is very accessible.  Like the volume buttons the sleep/awake button gets replace by one built into the case.  It still gives off a good amount of feedback when pressed.

On the back of the case a large cutout keeps the iPhone 5′s rear camera, secondary microphone and LED flash clear and feee from obstruction.

The Marware rEVOLUTION case offers a unique three piece design.  It fits the phone well and seems to provide a good deal of protection.  While the lip of the case does protect the iPhone’s screen it also makes the case incompatible with tempered glass screen shields.
