In additional to the blue color I was sent for review the Pocket Shield is also available in either White or Gray.
The exterior of the case features a slick leather looking finish. It’s glossy and minimalistic.
The interior of the case has two parts. On the left side, underneath the front flap, you’ll find a soft, suede material. On the right side sits a snap on the back style case ready to securely hold the iPad Mini in place.
To install the iPad Mini simply snap it in start with the buttons first. The fit is excellent. Not too tight and not too loose. I didn’t feel like the Mini was ever going to fall out and I didn’t feel like I was destroying it trying to insert or remove it.
Once installed the Pocket Shield yields access to all of the iPad Mini’s ports and control. Each piece has it’s own individual cutout.
The key of this case is the pocket, which is located inside the front flap of the case. It can be used to hold notes, paper, cards, etc.
You can prop up the iPad Mini into several different horizontal angles while in the case.
By flipping the Mini around you can also prop it up for typing.

The Pocket Shield does work with the iPad’s automatic sleep/awake feature. When you close the front cover the iPad turns off and when you open the cover the iPad wakes up. This case offers a great fit and very slim profile. The blue is a unique color as well and the interior pocket could be helpful for those needing to pack some extras along with their Mini.
