Custom cases are a great way to insure you’ve got a case for your mobile phone or tablet that no one else has. If you want to be unique creating your own special case is just the way to do so. CaseFun is a company based in the U.K. They were kind enough to reach out to me recently to see if I’d be interested in creating a custom case of my own. I gladly agreed and am ready to offer my thoughts on the process – from start to finish.

When you arrive at the CaseFun web site you’ll be given a choice. You can choose to make your own skin or case. At this time of this review the skin creation option seemed to be down so the only choice was to create a case.
If you’re not a iPhone 5 user don’t fret. CaseFun has cases for a wide variety of devices that it can customize for you.
The CaseFun online tool makes creating your custom case a snap.
You’ll first want to pick an image of your own and upload it to the tool.
Once you’ve uploaded your image it’ll be superimposed over your case. You can then choose to resize it or move it based on how you’d like it positioned on the case.
If you’d like to also add text to your case you can do that as well. You’ll have the option to choose from several different fonts and sizes as well as pick the color. Like the image you’ll be able to move the text around to wherever you’d like it to be on your case.
When your case arrives you’ll find it in a plain cardboard box. Inside there’s nothing other than the case itself.
The iPhone 5 case CaseFun uses is a simple, snap on the back style case. The case isn’t lined with anything but is high gloss and very smooth. I wouldn’t be concerned about it scratching the back of your phone.
Once on the case does yield access to all of the iPhone’s ports and controls.
The image printed on the back of the case looks great.

One issue I ran into is the amount of time it took to receive my case. I’m sure it’s not the norm but from the time I ordered my custom case it took about 3 weeks for it to arrive. I reached out to the folks at CaseFun and they assured me this is not what usually occurs and that they’ve sent tons of cases out without issue. I guess I was just unlucky.
Shipping time aside I found the creation process of the CaseFun case to be super easy. Their online tool makes the process of creating an iPhone 5 case out of a personalized photo a breeze and the case itself is just what you’d expect from a traditional snap on the back style case. Minimalistic, good fitting and no fuss.
