Sirius/XM iOS App Unusable on iPod touch 5G

If you’re an Sirius/XM radio subscriber and own a new iPod touch 5G I’ve got some bad news for you.  It seems the most recent version of the Sirius/XM radio application for iOS is incompatible with the iPod touch 5G.  The app does open and you’re actually able to enter your credentials.  But that’s where everything goes hay wire.  The only message that pops up is “network” error.  Hitting retry brings the pop back over and over again.  A brief check of the reviews section of the app in the iTunes App Store yields many users reporting a similar issue.

This bug isn’t anything new to the iOS app as I’ve experienced it before on other devices.  Here’s hoping Sirius/XM solves it soon.

I’ve been monitoring this issue ever since my mother got a new ipod touch last week and claimed that only the xm app didn’t work. We both know the app has it’s problems, but I doubted her as it worked on my iphone 5 with, of course, iOS6. Sure enough, comments in the app store started creeping up and backing up the issue. Within the past couple days, a couple of complains are now on twitter. And finally the issue has a web presence! “Here’s hoping Sirius/XM solves it soon.”…… I can hope, but I’m not holding my breath on it either!
