Now that the iPhone 5 has been made available for pre-order in the UK there has been a lot of confusion around when and where you can get a new nano sim which the phone uses. If you have pre-ordered through a store such as O2 or Three it seemed straightforward in that you get your new phone on the 21st of September and along with it comes a new nano sim ready for transfer.
But, the issue comes, when like me you, are an existing customer who is buying direct from Apple, how do we transfer?
Three seemed to be on the ball and have nano sim’s in stock so that if you have an iPhone 4 or 4S you simply pop into the store and get a new sim and adaptor, they swap it and it’s ready to go. O2 however has been radio silent on this topic prompting a current 28 page forum post on their own blogs surrounding this issue.
As if by magic O2 has now responded to demand and stated that nano sim’s will be in stock in store from the 18th Sept.
I am planning to do this so will report how it goes on Tuesday once I give it a try.
