ARCHOS Develops GamePad, Revolutionary Gaming Tablet for Android

ARCHOS, the innovative consumer electronics company, has announced their new gaming tablet. This is a new sort of table called the GamePad.  The GamePad uses both gaming controls and AndroidTM for a full tablet/gaming experience in one. Gamers will be privy to many cool features like email, internet access, apps, and more.

The GamePad has a 7-inch, capacitive screen, physical control buttons and analog sticks.  This tablet is Google certified and has access to Google PlayTM allowing the user to access tens of thousands of games.  The tablet runs an impressive dual-core proccess runing at 1.5 GHz which is combined with a Mali 400mp quad-core GPU.  And the GamePad comes with automatic game recogniztion and mapping tools.

“Thanks to the mapping and automatic game recognition systems included on the GamePad, we already have over a thousand android games compatible with the ARCHOS GamePad’s physical controls, including back catalog titles that originally didn’t include physical controls,” says Henri Crohas, ARCHOS Founder and CEO.

The GamePad will be available at the end of October 2012.  The exact price has not been released yet but it is said to cost under $188.00.
