Netatmo Debuts Urban Weather Station for iOS Devices

Netatmo, a French company that designs meteorology products, has announced the availability of the world’s first personal weather station for iOS devices. The Urban Weather Station will allow users to monitor indoor and outdoor environmental factors, such as temperature, humidity, carbon dioxide levels, and more.

The station monitors the environment in which it is placed, and then transmits data to the free Netatmo app via WiFi. While the Urban Weather Station sounds awesome for personal use, it’s goals are just as awesome: Netatmo aims to build the world’s largest weather and air monitoring network the world has ever seen. The result is an awareness that wasn’t as accessible if you didn’t watch the nightly news, or listen to the radio.

Netatmo’s Urban Weather Station comes with one outdoor and one indoor unit. While the indoor unit has a USB power cable, the outdoor unit runs off of 4 AAA batteries. The Urban Weather Station is available now for $179, and can be seen on Netatmo’s website.
