One of the most beloved stories from Disney is Bambi. I can remember having this story read to me as a child and watching it on video! The American Film Institute named Bambi number 10 of the top 10 list! This is the 4th app in the Disney Classics series and it lives up to it’s reputation! The app has that same feel of the old nostalgic storybook from 1942. Classic illustrations that come alive and move all around the screen, something that the original book never could do! The narration is very soothing in a womans voice that seems all too familiar. There’s relaxing music and fun sound effects that add to the experience. You have the option to have the narrator read to you, while it highlights the words being read to tech children to recognize words. You can also turn that off and have the option to read to yourself. The other option that is all to familiar with Disney is the option to record your own voice reading the story! That’s great for parents that may spend time away and want to comfort their child by personalizing the reading to them!
The app also has several activity options. First is the coloring book. You can actually color pages directly from the story! There are brush and color options so you can make it your own! There is also a function to directly email the picture after you’re done.
My kids really enjoyed the matching game. Within the app you can play matching flowers and there are various levels of difficulty. This is a great learning skill built directly into the app.
Another fun activity is the music game. It takes place in the forest and by tapping on different objects on teh screen you can make your own soothing symphony or listen to one that was pre-recorded.
