Review: SPIGEN Ava Karen Leather Zipack for iPad

If you’re the type of person who likes to use your iPad without a case but wants something to protect it while on the go, a sleeve is the perfect choice. A sleeve keeps your device nice and protected when not in use so you don’t have to worry when throwing it into a bag. Some also give nice protection while also packing a good dose of style. Case and point is SPIGENs Ava Karen Leather Zipack. It looks unique and is a great high quality product like all of SPIGEN’s excellent products. So is it the sleeve to get?

Read on to find out.

Right out of the box the first thing you will notice is the exterior design of this sleeve. It’s eye popping and unique with it’s red diamond shaped pattern combined with the stitching. Open up the interior and on one side you have tan lining and on the spot where the iPad rests is grey with tan tabs for the iPad. You’ll also notice the flap, which tucks into tabs built-in into the tan side to create a stand for the iPad.

The iPad sits in the sleeve nicely. It’s not firmly held into place nor does it loosely slide around either. The interior lining is pretty soft as well so it provides good padding for the device insuring that it won’t get scratched or damaged. When you’re ready to take the iPad, simply zip up the case and you’re good to go. The zipper is also nice and tight and doesn’t come loose or apart randomly which should prevent any debris from entering the case and potentially damaging the iPad.

The stand built into the case is pretty stable. Getting it setup is a bit complicated and there aren’t any included directions either. Basically the flap on the tan side folds in half then tucks into the red tabs which creates a stand for the iPad to rest on. It works in both landscape and portrait with no issues. The quality of the case is Top notch as well like all SPIGEN products. Feels top notch built and with great materials.

Overall, the Ava Karen Zipack is a nicely built sleeve packing a lot of style in a high quality package. It looks and feels great while offering great protection for your iPad while on the go. If they can make the stand portion a bit better it’d improve an otherwise excellent product.
