If you’re an iPhone case fanatic like me you probably have come to grips with the fact that there just aren’t many places where you can go view a large selection of cases all under one roof.  The Apple store used to be a good choice for this sort of thing but of late Apple seems less interested in selling accessories and more focused on hardware alone.

This past weekend I happened to be in NYC with my youngest daughter for a Daddy and me weekend.  As we were walking down 35th st. on our way to catch our train home out of Penn. Station we happened past the id America retail store.  I knew the company had launched a store in the NYC area but I didn’t really know where and it was by total luck that we walked by it.  As it turns out the “showroom” is located right below the company’s corporate office.

The showroom, as id America calls it, is clean and white.  On one side the walls stocked full and are adorned with every single product id America makes – and then some!  While it’s hard to find a quality store these days that offers the ability to view a large selection of iPhone cases you’ll never see one that offers every single model made by a single specific company.  That’s exactly what you get from the id America showroom.  All of the company’s iPad and iPhone accessories are offered up for you to experience live in person.

The 35th st. showroom, which happens to be located just underneath the company’s office, is only the first of a few retail locations id America plans to offer.  There will be two more locations spouting up around Manhattan very soon.

If you’re not an iPhone or iPad user fear not.  The id America store stocks all of the company’s audio accessories too including their newest offering, the Metropolitan.

But it doesn’t stop there.  The id America showroom also features a select group of products and accessories by other manufacturers too.  From headphones to styli, to fun Asian imported whimsical add-ons you’ll probably find something that catches your eye in addition to the id America made goodies.

If you’re tired of your black or white iPhone 4/4s the id America showroom has a technician on staff Monday – Saturday who will swap out the housing of your phone into a brand new, OEM like, colored style of your choice.

So if you happen to be the NYC area and are looking for a fun way to try out a ton of different iPhone or iPad accessories be sure you make a stop at the id America showroom.  The store is located at 147 W. 35th st.  It’s opened from 9-7 Monday through Friday and 12-7 on Sundays.  The warm and friendly staff is poised and ready to show you what id America has to offer your iOS gadget of choice.
