There is no shortage of slider style cases available for the iPhone. Often the problem you face when it comes time to choose one is that there isn’t a lot of differences between them. However, case maker Skech has done something a little different in their design of the Hard Rubber Slider that does make it stand out from the crowd.
Read on to find out more.
Once you get into the packaging (this is easy by the way) you are presented with a slider style case but no screen protector. The case itself has a soft feel plastic with a soft velvet like covering on the inside, which is great to see on this style of case. At the top we have a good sized opening for headphones, a cover over the sleep/wake button, smaller than average camera hole and good sized opening at the bottom for docking.
I found this case to be one of the best slider cases out there, it’s comfortable to hold and slimmer than most so there isn’t a lot of bulk. At the top I found no issues with any headphones I tried and the cover on the sleep/wake button is a nice touch and not something I’ve seen before.
At the side we have a good sized opening for the mute switch and volume buttons, no problems there.
At the bottom we have a generous opening for the dock connection, which I was able to use with most accessories that I have although to dock with the official Apple one I needed to remove the bottom section of the case – well it is a slider case after all.
The case is really slim at the sides, which is where this case stands out in my opinion. I find this style of case usually adds quite a bit of bulk at the sides and top but Skech have done away with this and left it really slim. This makes it almost as thin as a snap on case but does leave it with no lay on the table design.
At the back we have a small opening for the camera but from testing I found no flash issues, which was unexpected and doesn’t give me any concerns over the size of it.
A slider case is a great way to protect your iPhone and this is the best one I’ve used by far. It’s slim, has generous port openings, will fit a screen protector and is a nice price. If you are in the market for a slider then check this one out first.
