Review: KleverCase False Book Case for the Kindle 3

Somewhere, hidden amongst these books is my Amazon Kindle 3.  See it?  Okay, it’t not really hidden since the KleverCase says “my Kindle” right along the spine, but it still looks good nonetheless.  If you miss the old school look and feel of a classic hard cover book because you’ve switched over to the Kindle 3 the KleverCase False Book Case might be for you.  The handmade case brings back nostalgic memories of reading the classics while protecting your Kindle 3 from life’s challenges.

Read on for the full review.

Each KleverCase is handmade using original book binding techniques.  This insures that the case actually looks and feels as close to an authentic classic book as possible.  It comes wrapped in paper just like a classic book used to come too.

At first glance the case really does look like a classic, hard cover book.  Before you open it up and peak inside you’ll be hard pressed to tell it’s a Kindle 3 case at all.  The case is very light weight and adds very little bulk to the Kindle 3 itself.

The inside of the KleverCase is lined with a colorful pattern.

On the right side of the case you’ll find a silicone sleeve which holds the Kindle 3 in place.  You’ll notice two cutouts at the top of the sleeve which are meant to allow for the sound coming from the Kindle 3′s speakers to escape.  To place your KIndle 3 inside you start with the right side and the bottom first.  Once you’ve got that in place you proceed to pull the left side and top over.  The Kindle 3 fits very tightly into the sleeve and I did find it took some work to get it into place.  However, once I’d done so I appreciated the tight fit.  The Kindle 3 stays put and doesn’t move around.

The tight fit of the sleeve is important because the page forward and page backwards buttons of the Kindle 3 get covered by the case.  They however still offer a good amount of feedback when you press them.

Along the bottom of the case you’ll find that there’s a large cutout so that you can access all of the Kindle 3′s controls and ports without having to remove it from the KleverCase.

Even with the Kindle 3 installed the KleverCase maintains a slim and rather lightweight profile which makes marathon reading sessions doable.

The KleverCase False Book Case for the Amazon Kindle 3 offers a unique look and feel for a Kindle case.  The Kindle is a device for reading books.  Why shouldn’t it look like a book after all?
