Review: CableJive xlSync

For road warriors it’s undoubtedly a common problem.  The placement of the outlets in many hotel rooms is in such a location that you almost always end up having to leave your iPhone charging on the floor.  Part of this issue can be attributed to the placement of the outlet but it’s also the fault of the iPhone’s charge and sync cable being too short.  The cable, which comes included with every iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, measures in at just over 3 feet in length.  That’s fine if you use a laptop but if you’re a tower PC or Mac user or find yourself stretching to reach an outlet 3 feet just doesn’t cut it.

There’s got to be a better way right?  Now there is thanks to the CableJive xlSync.

Read on for the full review.

The CableJive xlSync more than doubles the length of the charge and sync cable Apple includes with its mobile devices.  This cable measures in at 6.5 feet (2 meters.)

The xlSync is available in either black or white so you’ll be able to best match it up to your personal decor.

The cable itself is made from durable construction so you needn’t worry about it fraying or separating like the original Apple cable is know to do.  It works with all USB 1.1 and 2.0 compatible devices and can sync and charge the iPhone, iPod touch, iPad and iPod (except the newest Shuffle.)

The connector on the xlSync is small enough to work with most third party cases and bumpers – including the OtterBox Defender.

The xlSync is a simple idea that just works.  If you’ve ever struggled to use your iPhone or iPad while it’s charging because the cord was just too short to reach you – perhaps on the sofa or in bed – the xlSync is the answer you’ve been looking for.  The lengthy 6.5 foot cable will reach behind sofas and beds, go under desks and work stations yet still leave enough slack behind to allow you to use your device – or better yet – keep it safe, off the floor while it recharges.

The CableJive xlSync is available now directly from the company’s web site here.

MSRP: $12.95

PROS: More than doubles length of original Apple cable, available in two colors, works with all cases.

CONS: None.
